Turning a dancer's reputation into a website that books trial classes
A personal portfolio for an internationally trained Odissi dancer and her online academy, built to turn a global reputation into booked trial classes.
The challenge
Sita Kadam-Zope is an Odissi dancer, choreographer and educator trained in the Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra lineage, with a track record that included performing before India's Prime Minister and meeting former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Her institute teaches Odissi online, in person and in hybrid formats to students across twelve countries. None of that credibility lived anywhere a stranger could find it in one place — it was scattered across press mentions, social posts and word of mouth, while the thing that actually mattered, a structured curriculum a parent could trust enough to book an online dance teacher for their child, did not exist on a website at all.
Our approach
We treated this as two audiences needing one site: a prospective student or parent deciding whether to trust an online teacher with a classical art form, and an existing student who needs class logistics. Credentials and lineage were placed where a first-time visitor actually looks — high, early, unavoidable — and the entire structure was built around a single obvious next step: book a free trial class.
What we actually did
Lineage, achievements and press recognition — performing before the Prime Minister, a meeting with Dr Kalam, a published wellness book — presented as the first thing a visitor sees, not an about page they have to go looking for.
Online, in-person and hybrid class formats laid out against a structured curriculum with defined milestones, so a parent evaluating a dance teacher over video call can see an actual syllabus rather than take training quality on faith.
A free trial class registration built as the primary action from every page — gallery, curriculum, student stories — short enough that an interested parent completes it in one sitting instead of emailing to ask how to start.
The outcome
Lineage, credentials and curriculum now live in a single coherent site instead of being pieced together from social profiles and press clippings.
Booking a free trial class is the clear action from anywhere on the site, rather than something an interested visitor has to hunt for or ask about by email.
Gallery, events and student stories structured so new performances and testimonials can be added as the reach into new countries continues, without a rebuild.
The academy went from a reputation held together by word of mouth to a website that does the trust-building work automatically, for a parent in any of the twelve countries the institute now teaches in. For teachers and practitioners whose credibility is the entire product, that is the whole brief.
Does any of this sound familiar?
This project started from a specific set of symptoms. If you recognise several of these in your own business, the problem is probably closer to SITA — Dance With Sita's than it looks.
For a personal-brand business, the website's only job is converting reputation into a booked first interaction. We would start by listing every credibility signal currently trapped in a press clipping or a DM screenshot, put the strongest ones above the fold, and build one short path from "interested" to "booked" — everything else on the site exists to support that path, not compete with it.
Other client work
